About The Inn
Housed in an Edwardian era building that is more than 115 years old, the OPI is a luxurious Hybrid Boutique Bed ‘n’ Breakfast that takes you back to a time when the American experience was more meaningful, and life was more indulgent. Built in 1904, only 48 months following the death of England's Queen Victoria, the building exudes the Victorian influence popular at that time and is one of the three buildings that survived the fire of 1905.
OPI, a proud reminiscent of a bygone era, having transitioned through being the Arcadia Post Office, to Desoto County Health Department, to an Apparel Store, to an Attorney’s Office, to a Photography Studio, to a Florist Shop, and finally to a Boutique Hotel in 2008, still stands tall in its uniquely imbibed character amidst 370 historic homes next to the Tree of Knowledge and across from the Old Depot. Still in functional display are many fine period-antiques, some more than 140 years old. From the very minute you step into the 50-foot-long Grand Lobby of the OPI, and onto the original flooring so beautifully restored, you will know you are in a very special place. And, during your stay here, we will make you feel very special too, guaranteed!
OPI proudly designates itself as the "stress free" zone, offering guests a peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle of today’s world; at least until they must return to it. During your stay at the OPI, you will be treated like royalty and will never want to leave. Our goal is to provide you with a clean and wholesome environment and a highly personalized service combined with luxurious toiletries and bedding, leading to a truly memorable experience. After registering at the lobby front desk, your luggage will be carefully loaded aboard the hotel's dumb waiter and sent up to the second-floor lobby close to your room. You will notice the spacious "Sky Light Room" on this upper level, which serves as a private sitting and dining area with a large fireplace. The OPI is a great place to hold limited gatherings such as small weddings & receptions, showers, retreats, and political events. Whether traveling for business or pleasure, alone or with an entire crew, our central downtown location and proximity to antique shops, galleries, eateries, rodeo, the Turner Center, and Arcadia’s business district make the OPI a perfect choice for your stay!
In addition to letting you recapture all the romance, charm and gracious ambiance of the bygone era, OPI provides exceptional value by including:
HOT BREAKFAST - served daily from 7 am to 10 am at our partner coffee house. A coupon for one hot breakfast (up to $20 value) valid for one entree for one person, is included with every room night booked. Additional breakfast coupons are available for $9 each at the front desk and are valid for one entree for one person. Guests may order any entree from the full menu at Shelly’s
COMPLIMENTARY ON-SITE GUEST LAUNDRY - available for use by checked-in guests from 7am to 7 pm.
INNKEEPER’S RECEPTION - featuring snacks and beverages to welcome our esteemed patrons every evening.
Occasionally, the Oak Park Inn may host a recognizable celebrity from the entertainment/sports/business world, perhaps even for the same reasons you have chosen to be with us; quiet privacy, a romantic get-away or maybe just to recharge. Our patrons include frequent guests from Europe and Latin America who come to hunt wild boar or alligator with a famed wildlife guide. The Oak Park Inn has received great reviews on TripAdvisor.com, and in the newspapers and on television. Our Inn was recently featured on the Road Trippin' segment of CBS12 news.
The OPI, a Hybrid Boutique Bed ‘n’ Breakfast, is different from larger chain hotels and conventional bed ‘n’ breakfast accommodations. It captures the best of both worlds. The service is excellent and is personalized and different, the character of the inn is relaxingly different, and the motif very pleasantly different! Whatever your reason may be, we will do our best to make your stay a cherished memory forever! Truly, the OPI is a great place to hide out in plain sight! Who'd ever think to trace you here? Come, stay, and rediscover the real you!"
